DocuBrain (“the App”) is a document scanning and organization application designed to help users capture, store, and manage personal documents on their iOS devices. This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled when you use the App.

Information We Collect

DocuBrain is designed to operate entirely on your device. All documents you scan, including any text extracted via optical character recognition (OCR), are stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage. We do not upload, transmit, or store your documents or their contents on any external server.

The App does not collect your name, email address, location, or any other personally identifiable information. The only data that leaves your device is what is necessary to process in-app purchase transactions, which is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store.

Camera and Document Access

The App requests access to your device camera solely to enable document scanning. Images captured through the camera are processed on-device and are never transmitted to any third party. You may revoke camera access at any time through your device settings.

In-App Purchases

DocuBrain offers optional paid subscriptions through Apple’s in-app purchase system. All billing, payment processing, and subscription management is handled by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information. For details on how Apple handles purchase data, please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Artificial Intelligence Processing

DocuBrain uses Apple Intelligence, Apple’s on-device machine learning framework (FoundationModels), to analyze scanned document text and suggest actions such as expense entries, calendar events, and reminders. This processing occurs entirely on your device.

No document text, images, or any other content is transmitted to any AI provider, cloud service, or third-party server as part of this feature. DocuBrain does not use any third-party AI service (such as OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or similar).

The AI feature requires a compatible iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence enabled. If your device does not support Apple Intelligence, document analysis features will be unavailable, but all other app functionality remains unaffected.

Spotlight Search Integration

If enabled, the App indexes document titles and metadata with Apple’s Spotlight Search to allow you to find your documents from the iOS home screen. This indexing occurs entirely on-device and does not involve any external data transfer.

Analytics and Tracking

DocuBrain does not use any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking frameworks. We do not track your usage of the App, and we do not share any data with advertisers or data brokers.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data stored by DocuBrain exists only on your device. You can delete individual documents within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App will remove all associated data from your device. Because we do not store your data on any server, there is no additional deletion process required on our end.

Children’s Privacy

DocuBrain is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
